West employs over 1,000 team members across Ireland, including two manufacturing facilities and a Global Finance Services Centre.

West’s Dublin facility has 20 years of operations and sustained growth including high volume, complex device manufacturing. Its manufacturing and development centre in Dublin specialises in providing device design, development and manufacturing services for pharmaceutical and med-tech customers. The Dublin facility, located in Damastown, Dublin 15 currently employs approximately 730 team members, including global engineering and research & development.West also has 90 team members based in the Liberty Building in Blanchardstown, Dublin. This team consists of multiple global functions creating value for West’s global business and operations, including Global Finance Services, Customer Success and Global Supply Planning.
The Waterford facility has been commercially operational since 2018 as a global centre of excellence for West‘s advanced manufacturing network. The Waterford team produces packaging components for insulin injector cartridges and other high-value packaging components, to meet growing demand from pharmaceutical and biotech customers. The facility also has a Medical Device Testing Centre and Analytical Labs on-site. The facility employs over 260 team members.


West currently operates two Apprenticeship Programmes on site. The West Polymer Apprenticeship Programme and Toolmaker Apprenticeship Programme formally combines work place learning with learning in an education centre. At the end of the course the apprentice will have a BSC in Polymer Processing Technology (level 07 qualification) or an Advanced Certificate Craft – Tookmaking (level 06 qualification). These courses are an ideal way of getting suitable hands on experience, working in a challenging manufacturing environment. With this programme, apprentices will be able to put their learnings from the college phase into practice on the job during industry semesters. Community involvement has a long tradition at West. The H.O. West Foundation has been supporting charitable organisations since 1972. West without Borders is the company's global employee-led giving programme that empowers West team members to give back to the community through monetary donations and volunteerism. Since the inception of West without Borders in 2004, team members have raised millions of dollars for hundreds of charities located around the globe. West matches all funds raised by team members. Over the last decade, the Dublin team has donated over €440,000 to the Children's Health Foundation Temple Street and the Waterford team has donated almost €100,000 to charities including Pieta House, BUMBLEance and Waterford Autism Social & Sport Action since 2018.
