Our communities continue to face challenging circumstances related to COVID-19, and West is working hard to support our customers, our teams and our neighbors. Business as usual is changing, and we all struggle to understand what business as usual looks like now and what it means for each of us.
We know that people with underlying health concerns may have more challenges if they become infected. For these individuals, staying on their medicines is extremely important, which is why we’re particularly proud of our teams for the important work they do to ensure our customers have a reliable supply of components critical to the drug containment and delivery systems that so many patients rely on to stay healthy. Our manufacturing teams are truly on the front lines of this crisis, and we are grateful to them.
Nurturing a culture of philanthropy and community involvement is one of the defining characteristics of our company, and we are proud to continue these efforts — safely —around the world. Many of our team members have offered their time, unique skills and knowledge in support of local COVID-19 response efforts.
Finally, we are grateful to all the members of our community, including medical professionals, law enforcement officers and first responders, who continue to go to work every day and risk their well-being so that we may feel safe, protected and cared for.

Prior to joining West in 2015, I had a 24-year military career where I gained considerable experience in crisis management. During that time, I spent several years deployed overseas, spending long periods of time away from my family while serving in challenging environments. My service also included supporting the City of Philadelphia and surrounding counties during several declared States of Emergency. We spent many days and night running 24/7 crisis and emergency response operations including sending soldiers and vehicles on missions in support of local emergency services, first responder, and healthcare personnel.
Our culture is based on supporting the health and well-being of our communities. Now more than ever, it’s important to reach out and help those in need. To support our communities around the world, West is donating to multiple organizations that are making important contributions to society and need support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Working at West means having an opportunity to work by the side of our global team members and the communities in which we operate, as well as our patients and customers – which all help contribute to a healthier world.
This past February, our team members around the world came together to help fight hunger in their local communities during our fifth annual global food drive. As the global community navigates the evolving challenges of the COVID-19 situation, having a stable food supply is even more important. We are proud of our team members for their incredible generosity. Their donations are needed now more than ever.
