Hurricane Impact Update
West is monitoring the severe and unfortunate devastation caused by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and most recently, Maria. To assist those in need who have been affected by these storms, West has made corporate donations to the American Red Cross, and our employees are fundraising to help with the recovery efforts.
The most violent hurricane to hit Puerto Rico in 80 years, Hurricane Maria, has impacted West’s Contract Manufacturing facility in Cidra. While communication has been challenging, West is working diligently to ensure that our employees are safe. In addition, we are assessing damage to the plant and any potential impact customers. Many of the customers serviced by the Cidra facility are also located in Puerto Rico; and West is in direct contact with impacted customers to minimize, to the extent possible, Maria’s impact on operations.
Thank you for your patience.
Hurricane Irma impacted regions where West has three plants: St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida; and Puerto Rico. All three sites came back on line within days of the weather clearing.
West’s operations were not disrupted directly by Hurricane Harvey. However, West does receive raw materials from a limited number of suppliers located in the impacted region of the United States. We continue to believe the company is currently well-inventoried on raw materials sourced from these suppliers.
Supply Chain Management:
A team of West supply chain and procurement professionals is monitoring each situation closely, and is in contact with our suppliers and logistics partners in the affected areas. The team is constantly reconciling the information provided by those partners against current inventory and demand outlook. In addition, teams are meeting to discuss risk mitigation efforts and to update contingency plans, including alternate sourcing options where relevant.
West will continue to provide relevant updates to any affected customers. If you would like to receive email updates from West regarding the impact of Maria, Harvey and Irma, please subscribe to our Hurricane Impact Alert.
