B2-coating nomenclature

This Knowledge Article explains the different B2-coating codes in relation to the area of the closure that had been sprayed with B2-coating.

B2-coating is a combination of high molecular weight silicones. It is a cross-linkable polydimethylsiloxane which is applied by spray, then heated and UV cured to the surface of elastomeric closures. In comparison to free silicone oil, the B2-coating greatly reduces subvisible particulate levels while enhancing closure machinability.
