Today, West Pharmaceutical Services welcomed the Southeast PA Regional Veterans Consortium to its Exton, PA headquarters. The Consortium, created to bring together top employers to collectively combat the employment issues that veterans face, shares West’s dedication to this important cause.

Morel, Jr. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Rick Luzzi, Senior Vice President, Human Resources welcomed this distinguished group of corporate and non-profit leaders for an important session to assess and measure the group’s work to date and determine next steps that will ensure the Consortium continues advancing its mission.
Because West too believes in the need to help servicemen and servicewomen transition to meaningful careers in the private sector, the company developed Ties for Stripes. The program does more than just recruit veterans. It partners veterans with a mentor throughout the training and onboarding process and career plans are developed to help them achieve their long-term goals.
West is a proud member of the Southeast PA Veterans Consortium and will support Veterans in more charitable ways through this year’s West Without Borders campaign.
West Pharmaceutical Services team members performed especially well this year for the Janssen Supply Chain Global Procurement Organization (a part of the Johnson & Johnson group of companies), which recently presented the team with the bronze Supplier Award. The award was presented during a ceremony at the J&J facility in Turnhout, Belgium, on May 7.

<em>Technical Guideline for Study of Nitrosamine Impurities in Chemical Drugs (Trial)</em> was issued by the China National Medical Products Administration on 8 May 2020. This guideline discusses nitrosamine impurities in drug products, including the sources of nitrosamine impurities and the control strategy. The control strategy is given from the perspectives of the basic concept of control, control limits, establishment of analytical methods, and control of risk throughout the drug product lifecycle.
Developing a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine presents numerous and unprecedented challenges; prominent among them are greatly accelerated timelines. Ordinarily for a new drug product, there is sufficient time for selection/evaluation of the vial/stopper packaging system – one that guarantees quality and safety from manufacture through delivery. This is not the case for a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine where the primary packaging system must be chosen quickly, creating a higher risk.
