Tech Group Europe partnered with Temple Street Children’s Hospital for the 2012 West without Borders campaign.
Established in 1872, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital is a national facility that provides pediatric care to children from all over Ireland. Each year, over 130,000 sick children are cared for in Temple Street, with many of the inpatients coming from outside Dublin. The Accident and Emergency Department cares for almost 50,000 children annually, making it one of the busiest facilities in Europe.
On Friday, May 25, the staff at Tech Group Europe gathered for a stationary cycling event to raise much needed funds for the Hospital. The group cycled the equivalent distance from Malin Head to Mizen Head (500 km, the length of Ireland!) on stationary bikes. The event was a resounding success with hundreds of onlookers/shoppers contributing as they watched the cyclists sweat the distance in the shopping mall. The fundraising total is currently €19919.15 and all the proceeds will go directly to the Renal Ward in the Children’s Hospital.

West's contract manufacturing team has once again reached a record level of support for Temple Street Children’s Hospital and recently presented a check for €18,000 that was raised by employees in 2015.
As part of the annual West without Borders campaign, Tech Group Europe raised €30,000 (approximately $45,000) in 2013 for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. The donation will be used to fund a much needed dialysis machine for the hospital’s renal unit.
The team at West’s Dublin facility continues to be a strong supporter of Temple Street Children’s Hospital, and in the past seven years has raised over $260,000 for the foundation.
As we are celebrating our 100th anniversary this year, the West Dublin site also celebrates 25 years of successful operations. Children’s Health Foundation Temple Street has been a charity partner of West Dublin’s ‘West without Borders’ initiative since 2012, and during that time the Dublin team has raised a staggering €440,000 to fund a range of vital services and cutting-edge equipment that save children’s lives every day.
Nurturing a culture of philanthropy and community involvement is one of the defining characteristics of West. Team members around the world take their responsibility to give back very seriously, donating considerable time and resources to help create a healthier world. West without Borders, our team member-led giving programme, has raised millions of dollars since its inception in 2004 and the initiatives in Ireland were recently recognised at the Pharma Industry Awards for Corporate Social Responsibility Programme of the Year.
