West Team Runs Through the Mud for Operation Gratitude
On Saturday, July 13, a team of West colleagues and family members participated in the 2013 Merrell Down & Dirty National Mud and Obstacle Series in Philadelphia, Pa. The run is a 10k with a series of obstacles including: slippery mountain and inflatable, mud pit and water crossings, and Marine hurdles and cargo net climb.
The mud run supports Operation Gratitude, which sends gift packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. service members deployed in hostile regions such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and on Navy ships. Thanks to many generous donations, the West team raised over $16,700 for Operation Gratitude, which is the most a single group has ever raised for the foundation. These funds will go a long way in helping Operation Gratitude send the troops a taste of home while protecting our country overseas.
