Each year in Denmark, approximately 160 children under the age of 14 are diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis is life changing in many ways for the child and his or her family. Little things that were once taken for granted, like going to the movies or the zoo, may no longer be possible. Often, families are isolated for long periods of time due to a sick child’s weakened immune system.
Families with Children Affected by Cancer helps the many families who need a ray of hope, advice and support during such trying times.
This year West Denmark in Horsens chose to support this organization to help make a difference for children and their families. West colleagues participated in a number of activities to raise money, including:

Vial-based primary packaging systems for sterile drug products must provide protection over shelf life. This requires demonstration of container closure integrity (CCI); this testing should be performed early in the drug product development stage. As we all know, there is not one CCI test method that fits all systems/conditions.
Where is the product catalog? What is my item number? These questions are often asked by customers new to working with West. The problem with such questions when it comes to choosing primary drug packaging is both complex and simple: <em>people don’t choose the container closure system – rather, the choice is made by the properties of the drug product. In other words, the drug <span> </span>chooses the container.</em>
With the explosive growth in social media, mobile devices, cloud computing and access to data both internal and external to West (now referred to as Big Data), West IT has been working to ensure that we are able to leverage these transformational trends. Particulate matter in finished drug products can come from a number of sources, including the ingredients in the drug product, manufacturing equipment and environment, or the components of the container closure system.
