The West Contract Manufacturing Facilities Achieve “Best Places to Work” Ranking

The Tech Group has been named among the “Best Places to Work” for large companies (250-999 employees) in Phoenix, Arizona, by the Phoenix Business Journal.  Tech Group, which ranked 18th in the category, is the only manufacturing company named among the selections that also included categories for micro, small, midsize and extra-large.

“For us this is a pleasant surprise,” said Mike Treadaway, Vice President and General Manager, Tech Group. “We weren’t sure what would happen when we decided to participate, but we’re pleased to know that our employees place us among the top companies in the area.”

Treadaway says that excellent employee communication, as well as a high degree of employee engagement and involvement in Lean programs at all facilities has helped employees make a difference.

“It’s part of our culture to respect and encourage our employees’ ideas for improvements,” noted Treadaway.  “We implement as many of those ideas as we can and reward employees for successful implementation.  Even entry level employees can make a difference here, and that helps everyone understand how important they are to our business.”

“Our employees are the core of our organization,” noted Mark Dunning, Senior Director, Human Resources, Pharmaceutical Delivery Systems.  “We pick a good team, we make sure everyone understands how important it is to support the floor operators and that they have the time, the environment, the tools and the enthusiasm to do a good job every day, which makes a difference not only to our customers, but ultimately to the people who use our products.”

Data generated from the survey will help determine areas where Tech Group can improve employee relations and communications.

“We want to thank our employees for helping us achieve this,” said Treadaway.  “Everyone has contributed to Tech Group ranking as one of the best places to work in the Phoenix area, and we celebrate our successes.  It’s something we do every day.”
