As one of the largest annual platforms dedicated to packaging innovation and drug delivery systems for the pharmaceutical industry, Pharmapack Europe 2012 looks to be an exciting event this year. West will be there to help customers learn more about products such as EnvisionTM and Westar® RU components, LyoSeal® plastic caps and Daikyo Crystal Zenith® products.
More than 260 leading international companies specializing in design, manufacturing and supply of products and services for the pharmaceutical packaging industry will attend, and we’re excited to see their new products. We’re also looking forward to the multitude of first-class speakers and presentations focused on innovation.
Innovation is key for West. We pride ourselves on providing our customers with innovative solutions to packaging issues. And 2012 will be no exception. Watch for a new product line introduction focused on high-quality components manufactured with Quality by Design principals, coming in April.
The Tech Group will be welcoming customers at stand #570 at Pharmapack. We will present our expanded capabilities both in device development and device manufacture. We look forward to welcoming visitors and having the opportunity to discuss all aspects of device requirements.
So what are you looking forward to discovering at Pharmapack this year?
The two most common means of sterilizing elastomeric parenteral packaging components are steam autoclave and gamma irradiation processes. When appropriately validated, both processes are very effective at eliminating concerns around microbial contamination of the components used for container closure of sterile liquid, lyophilized or powder drug products. Despite the ability of both methods to reach the required sterilization specifications and requirements, the overall impact that these processes have on the elastomeric component can be quite different.
The Herman O. West Scholarship Program provides academic scholarships to children of West employees who have demonstrated exceptional academic and extracurricular achievement, as well as a commitment to serving the community. Established in 1972, the program honors Herman O. West, the founder of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. Over the past five years alone, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to 42 students attending 33 different colleges and technical schools. West proudly recognizes talented students from across the U.S., and to date has awarded scholarships to the children of employees from thirteen of its U.S. plants.<br />
West is pleased to congratulate the recipients of the 2017 H.O. West Foundation academic scholarships! This year the H.O. West scholarship program awarded nine scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
<p><em>Teams Place 15 and 28 out of 120 Teams</em></p><p>The West DragonPhyre and DragonPhlame teams placed 15<sup>th</sup> and 28<sup>th</sup>, respectively, out of the 120 teams competing at the 11<sup>th</sup> Annual Philadelphia Dragonboat Festival on October 6, 2012.</p>
Employees of The Tech Group Puerto Rico donated $1,000 to Optometry Giving Sight (OGS), an organization dedicated to helping people around the world who are blind or vision impaired. OGS is a global fundraising initiative that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to uncorrected refractive effort – simply the need for an eye examination and glasses.
