On June 20, representatives from West joined Chairman and CEO Donald E. Morel, Jr., Ph.D., to celebrate the company’s 90th anniversary by ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The closing ceremony at the stock exchange commemorates West’s long history of working side-by-side with top pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies around the globe to solve the challenges of delivering life-changing therapies safely and effectively to patients.
“As we commemorate our company’s 90th year of serving healthcare markets, we look back with pride on the role West has played helping deliver drugs safely to patients around the world,” said Morel. “West has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 1980 and we are honored to participate in the closing ceremony.”
The closing bell ceremony is broadcast live by several financial news networks and is viewed by millions around the world.

Fox Chase Cancer Center held its annual wrap-up event on December 11, 2014. The event honors teams who participate in the annual Dragon Boat Festival to raise money for cancer research. This year, West’s Exton team were honored as the top fundraiser. In addition, two West team members were recognized as top individual fundraisers, including Jo-Ann Adamson, who was recognized as the top individual fundraiser for the 2014 Philadelphia Dragon Boat event.
West had the opportunity to participate in a Girls Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology (GETT) educational video series in February. GETT began in Chester County, PA in 2001 in response to the under-representation of young women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields. GETT is an initiative of the Innovative Technology Action Group (ITAG), a program under the Chester County Economic Development Council, driven by the volunteer efforts of local organizations.
West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. today announced that Eric M. Green has been appointed the company’s Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Donald E. Morel, Jr., Ph.D., current Chairman and CEO. Eric Green will join West and take on his new responsibilities on April 24, 2015.
