West is proud to celebrate the 2026 Herman O. West Foundation Scholarship recipients, including the program’s first awardees in Ireland. This year, West proudly recognizes twenty-one students for their leadership and academic achievements.
We are pleased to announce that the Herman O. West Foundation Scholarship has officially expanded to Ireland, with 2026 marking the inaugural year of the program in the country. This significant milestone reflects the H.O. West Foundation’s ongoing commitment to investing in education and supporting team members and their families.
Students of West employees receive $5,000 (~€4,400) annually for four years, providing a total of $20,000 toward their higher education. The recipient of the Chairman’s Scholarship receives $10,000 per year, totaling $40,000 over the four-year period.
These recipients were selected through an independent scholarship selection committee based on the following criteria: character, maturity, leadership, extracurricular activities, motivation, interest and desire, predicted success in college, and academic achievement.
West is pleased to congratulate the following twenty-one students who have been awarded the 2026 scholarship and wish them continued success as they continue their academic journey!
Founded in 1972, the Herman O. West Foundation honors the legacy of Herman O. West, one of the founders of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. The William S. West Scholarship is funded by Mr. West’s family in honor of West’s former Chairman and CEO. In addition, the Chairman’s Scholarship is awarded annually and this year it was given to Ashley Wang of Exton, Pennsylvania, daughter of Peter Wang.
In addition to providing scholarships to the children of team members, the Herman O. West Foundation supports team members through matching gifts and emergency relief programs. Donations from U.S. full-time employees to organizations that hold 501(c)(3) designation are matched by the Foundation up to $1,500 per employee. The Employee Emergency Relief Fund was launched to support employees facing unexpected hardship. It is funded by employees, for employees and matched by the Herman O. West Foundation.
