Strengthening Community Impact: Bangalore GTC Advances Its Technology Giving Program
Continuing our commitment to strengthening the communities where we live and work, the Bangalore GTC team recently completed another successful technology donation drive, providing refurbished laptops and other devices to schools with limited access to technology. This initiative reflects our dedication to sustainable development and demonstrates how our people can use what they do best to make a meaningful difference in empowering future generations.

Expanding access to digital learning
Access to technology has become essential for education, yet many students still face barriers in the digital era. To help bridge this gap, the Bangalore GTC team refurbished and donated laptops and other necessities to support the setup of computer labs in local schools. For many students, this marks their first sustained access to computers and digital learning tools. So far, more than 700 children have benefitted from West’s donation and the impact continues to grow.

Beyond donation: engaging minds and inspiring curiosity
The team also recognized that technology is just part of the solution. Alongside the donation, the team conducted STEM-related engagement activities to spark curiosity and confidence among students. Through hands-on experiences, demonstrations, and interactive learning, students were not only encouraged to use computers, but to understand the science, creativity, and possibilities behind them.
Vaishnavi P, Associate Digital Marketing Analyst, D&T, and one of the volunteers, shared: “I’m honored to support 7th, 8th, and 9th graders through our laptop donation drives. They are at a stage in life when they are tech-savvy, curious, adaptable, and eager to explore the digital world. Providing access to the right technology helps them build essential skills early, rather than later.”
Naresh Pradhan, Director, D&T, Functional Design & O2C added: “When technology touches education, it does more than upgrade classrooms — it uplifts the future. Through this initiative, we have taken a small but meaningful step toward opening doors of opportunity for every child, ensuring that digital learning is not a privilege, but a bridge to hope, confidence, and dreams ready to take flight.”
By supporting access to education while reducing e-waste, the Bangalore GTC team has set a strong example of how we can care for both our communities and our planet, demonstrating our way of serving others in a sustainable way. We look forward to continuing this journey and extending our impact in the years ahead.
