Built for Life in Action: Singapore Team Rallies for Childhood Cancer Awareness

As part of West Without Borders* 2026, our team members in Singapore came together to support the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF), the organization behind Hair for Hope (HfH), Singapore’s only head-shaving campaign dedicated to raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer. This year’s theme, “This Is Our Shared Journey,” reflects the collective strength of children, caregivers, donors, volunteers, and the wider community, reinforcing the message that no child faces cancer alone.

Thirty-four West team members voluntarily took part in a hair-shaving event at the Jurong site, marking the start of a donation drive across all Singapore locations. Their participation was a meaningful act of solidarity that helped shine a light on childhood cancer while supporting the work of CCF.

One of the volunteers, Suresh Kumar Mallisseri Kalam, Associate Manager, Forming, Operations, Jurong, shared: “It’s my first time shaving my head to support children fighting cancer. Hair loss can be one of the most emotional and difficult parts of a child’s cancer journey, and I wanted these brave young fighters to know that they are not alone.”

CH Lee, Senior Director, Operations, Jurong, played a special role in the event by leading the first shave. He added: “I’m proud of our team for stepping up and turning our collective care into real action for the communities around us. As a company committed to making a difference, moments like these remind us that our purpose is only as strong as the initiative our people choose to take — and today, they proved it.”

The campaign received strong support across Singapore. From June 3 to August 15, 121 donors contributed SGD 10,248. With West’s 100% corporate match, a total of SGD 20,496 was donated to CCF — a meaningful reflection of the generosity, compassion and shared purpose of our teams

As we recognize Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, stories like this remind us that support for children with cancer extends far beyond a single month. Every act of awareness, generosity and solidarity can help children and families feel seen, supported and cared for.
