This technical report discusses the impact of needle piercing techniques on elastomer stopper coring and fragmentation.
Coring and fragmentation are typical events that could occur when a needle penetrates a vial closure to withdraw content from the vial or expel content into the vial. They are also critical concerns for any injectable product. Discussed here are the impact of piercing techniques on this issue.
