In 2012, West rolled out a new global branding initiative that included a new tagline: By Your Side for a Healthier WorldTM. What does that mean? Every day, injectable drugs and vaccines are administered to improve the health of millions of patients around the world. At the recent CPhI China Conference, we introduced our Integrated Solutions Program to the Asia Pacific Market. The Program is designed to help reduce risk, mitigate regulatory complexity and Simplify the Journey™ from molecule to market for our pharmaceutical partners.
The number of biologic drug products marketed with an injection device has approximately quadrupled over the last decade. The growth in these drug therapies has been driven by several factors including new, self-administered therapies for chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune diseases. In addition, injectable therapy is now being considered as a treatment for more conditions, including asthma and cholesterol problems.
In 2023, West turned 100. As I look back across the year, I am proud to be part of this amazing organization. Our 100th year in service was a time to reflect on our heritage, celebrate everything we have achieved and look forward to our future with a renewed sense of determination.
The PDA Annual Meeting, “Modern Sterile Product Manufacture – Exploring Best Practices and Seeking New Approaches,” will be held April 15-17, 2013, at the Peabody Orlando in Orlando, Florida. This meeting will focus on the challenges currently faced by the pharmaceutical industry, advances in modern manufacturing and look ahead to the future of the industry.
