Tech Talk--Optimizing the Global Supply Chain
Last month, I gave an overview of how West’s IT strategy supports the “One West – Customer First” business strategy through three major investment areas:
- Customer Relationship Management, or CRM
- Supply Chain Management, or SCM
- Business Analytics and Dashboards
Our CRM program, Chronicle, was launched in the Spring of 2012 and we’re beginning to derive business benefits. Recently, West launched a Supply Chain Management initiative to improve customer satisfaction across all markets where West operates. The supply chain program is aimed at optimizing our end-to-end global supply chain to better serve our global customers. The program has identified opportunities for process and data harmonization, and West IT expects to play an import supporting role as the SCM strategy evolves.
